First Stop: Acampo

As of this afternoon, once Eric arose from his hungover slumber (and I was finished giving instructions to my friend about my goodies) we changed the roadtrip plans.  Yes, I know...already?!?

"What had happened was"...we got to our friend's house last night at around 11:15 and decided to head down to Main St. for some late night snacking and drinks...and then it just went downhill.  You may use your imagination at this time.  We went to bed somewhere around 5am and that was nowhere in our plans.

Plans moved to getting up to the fabulous in-laws house to hang out and repack the car.  Eric is not good at that part of the moving experience and I decided it would be best to just take everything out and repack it once we got somewhere for a little bit.

Stopped to grab a bite to eat at the little market, why the heck have we never eaten here before?!?  Honestly, THE best Gyro I have had in forever and Eric's ham & cheese?  Bomb!  Check Ocean Pacific Market out for sure if you are in the beach area.

We always take Route 99 up north because of Bravo Farms Traver.  This is THE BEST midway stop on the way from the LBC up to Lodi area.  We stop for a beer or two, a light lunch and to shop for fresh cheeses.  Yes, they make their own cheese at Bravo!  Our favorite stop along the route and typically the only stop as it is only about 6 hours from door to door.

We will probably get to Mom & Dad's somewhere around 10 tonight, then off to a semi-good night's sleep...after a shower of course!

Leaving On A Jet Plane...Well, Kinda

Believe it or not, we are finally leaving the Great State of California...yes, we are leaving the beaches and the 2 hours to the mountains...and the 15 million hours in traffic.  We are leaving the not so nice folks but also leaving some of the best people that we made friends with!  We will miss them, truly.

But we won't miss the 405 Parking Lot...nor the EVIL people of the Queen's Surf Condos.  You know those crazies who won't let you into the parking structure because you didn't let the gate close ALL the way prior to using your clicker to go through...or the clicking heel lady (I swear she was a hooker) above us all night long, all night...or the dog barking condo (who was repeatedly asked to quiet her dogs, but never did)...or the old lady in the BMW who is just a straight up nut job, I really hope that she is loved more than she loves others.

We will miss this though:
This was our view from our lanai...waking up to dolphins in the morning and having a bitchin walk to anywhere anytime...priceless!

And this:

But we will always have this:

So, as of today we are heading out on a road trip to move to the next spot in our life journey: Austin TX (if I don't kill Eric first so cross your fingers!)
